What you actually get for a listing on Outbidly
Not the mechanic — the mechanic is on the Rules page. This is the honest answer to a different question: what do you actually get for the money?
The direct answer
A listing gets you two things, and only two things: a ranked position on a public leaderboard that anyone can browse, and an outbound link from that position to whatever you submitted. Every click on that link is counted and shown publicly, on the listing itself and on the site-wide stats page. That's the entire product. Nothing about rank affects search engine rankings, nothing is vetted or endorsed, and nothing is guaranteed beyond the position itself.
Visibility, measured honestly
The click count next to every listing is real — a counted redirect increments it, nothing else does, and it's never inflated or seeded. That's a deliberate choice: it would be easy to make the numbers look more impressive, and it would also be a lie to anyone deciding whether to pay based on them. What you see is what happened.
If the numbers look small right now
They probably do — Outbidly is new, and a young site has a young audience. A handful of clicks on a brand-new listing isn't a sign the mechanic doesn't work; it's what an honest, unpadded number looks like in week one. Unlike an ad impression or a social post, a listing's total doesn't expire. It sits on the All-Time board indefinitely, holding whatever rank the total earns it, for as long as the site exists. Being passed by another listing only changes your position — it never erases the total or the traffic that total has accumulated. Money paid toward a listing today keeps working for it months from now, without another payment.
A low floor, and nothing recurring

What a listing does not get you
