Launching an AI image, video, or audio tool on Outbidly
A tool that generates images, video, voice, or music has one advantage almost no other category gets on a leaderboard: the product is the demo. Here's how to make sure that actually comes through in a single scraped row.
Your audience decides in a glance, more than most
Someone browsing AI Media listings is usually looking for a specific visual quality — a style, a level of realism, a particular output format — and they can often tell whether a tool is a fit faster from one good image than from a paragraph of copy. That makes the favicon and page title Outbidly pulls into your listing row punch above their weight here: they're a small surface, but for a visual product, small visual signals carry more information than they do for, say, a CLI tool.
The landing page has to actually show the output
This sounds obvious and gets skipped constantly. A surprising number of AI media landing pages lead with founder copy, a pricing table, or a waitlist form before showing a single example of what the tool produces. For this category specifically, that's a worse first impression than it would be for a SaaS dashboard tool — the whole reason someone clicks through from the board is to see the output, and if the page they land on doesn't show it above the fold, the click was wasted regardless of how well the listing itself scraped.
What to check before submitting
Load your landing page cold, no scrolling. Is there a real generated image, video frame, or audio waveform visible immediately — not a stock illustration of "AI" or an abstract gradient? If not, that's worth fixing before the listing goes live, not after.Set a real og:image, title, and favicon — all three
Outbidly's listing row itself only pulls a title, a one-line description, and a favicon — it doesn't embed your og:image directly in the board. But that same Open Graph setup is what makes the page look right everywhere else your launch traffic comes from (a shared link in a community, a retweet, a Slack drop), and a media product with a broken or missing og:image undercuts its own core selling point the moment someone shares the link anywhere but the board itself. Set all three deliberately:
- A real favicon — ideally a small crop or icon version of your own output style, not a framework default. It's the first pixel-level signal in every board row.
- A concrete og:title, not just your product name — "AI voice cloning from a 10-second sample" tells a visual-first browser what to expect before they've seen anything.
- An og:image that's an actual generated output, not a logo — this doesn't render inside the Outbidly listing itself, but it's what makes every other share of your link do the selling for you.
Timing and budget work the same as anywhere else
$5 claims a new listing's spot; raising it later only costs the gap to your new target, minimum $1. If you're coordinating a launch around a new model version or a viral output someone's sharing, put budget toward the Today board for the window that traffic is actually arriving — it resets daily and usually costs less to lead than a mature All-Time total, and whatever you pay keeps counting toward All-Time afterward regardless.
